Hi - I have just discovered your web page and I think it is great. I have just hatched a little call duck yesterday after a couple of very sad deaths. We are all hoping that he pulls through. I would love to email you directly but can not access your email because we do not have microsoft word on our Mac and the email link does not work. I would love your advice as we will be devastated if anything happens to this little guy! Many thanks, Jenny

I am like obsessed with your website! As you would have guessed, I have ducks too! 3 ducks. The first one that hatched is named Bruiser. Just like yours. The next was named after the popular duck you have:Sheldon. The last one that hatched is Peep.I remember when they were little chicks. Now they're teenagers. We have a pond in our backyard. It's not very small. It's actuelly huge. Some people call it a lake. But to me a lake has to be bigger than our pond. Yeah it's that big though. It's not completely in out backyard, but...whatever there is a pond in out neighborhood and it's behind out house. We have adult mallard ducks there and canadian geese. We did what you guys did with your ducks. But then we bought a baby pool for them to be in when they got too big for the brooder. We had chicken wire around it. I still played with them and had them on my chest. But soon they got too big for that! So right now they live in our pond. I go out to them every day when available and feed them cracked corn. I put 3 piles. One for my ducks, 2 for the geese, and 3 for the other ducks. Though the ones that usually eat all 3 piles are the geese. I wish my ducks got to eat all they want without the geese in the way. Anyway I love this website. One time I read Sheldon's Diary all day without stopping! But i'm wondering why there isn't a new part of the diary. When I check back to the diary, I don't see a new paragraph. When my mom figures out how to get the photo of my with my 3 ducks on my chest, i'll send it to you by email.

Great Site and much useful information. My daughter has two quackers and this is their third year with ducklings. Today two eggs were 1/2 way out, unfortunately one didn't make it. The mother, Frizz, is still sitting on the rest of the eggs. My daughter has opted for fostering this early duckling. Thanks for the useful tips!! Especially about the swimming-never thought of this one!

Hello. My name is Oddie. I am a 5 day old call duckling. I am called Oddie because I was the odd egg out in a clutch of chicken eggs sat on by a very lovely buff orpington hen. Because I was so small when I hatched I was removed from the hen house. I am going to live at the junior school where I hatched one day. The owner of my duck parents had never raised a duckling before and found out loads by reading Sheldons diary! Thank you for being there in cyberspace as I am not quite sure what she would have done without you! A lot of the books about raising ducks don't really cover the stuff you have. I had my first swim today in a roller brush tray thanks to you. She would never have thought of that on her own! Bless. All those tips are very gratefully received. Hope you are all well. Love Oddie age 5 days.

Hello very interesting site. I was trying to find some information on how to hand raise a baby duckling. The duckling was happy and cherry when replacing her with a mommy and her ducklings. She was with another mommy; however she was alone and there seemed to be no eggs where this mother usually laid. While this other mother was still laying we figured the little duckling lost its way. Well, after the mother was done hatching she left her nest and this baby was left behind. When i found this baby she was weak and got a tweeked neck. Do you know if this could of been due to dehydration? Or is she lacking something ? Well, if you have any pointers I sure could use them. Thank you for the intersting site!

Very informative site. We have hatched chickens eggs, but would like to try and hatch duck eggs, so this site was full of usefull information. We have 2 ducks that we bought at 4 weeks old, unfortunately they are both males, but a friend of mine has some fertile duck eggs. I will let you know if it is successful. Many thanks

Hello, I want to thank you so much for your helpful website! Ever since I stumbled on 5 abandoned mallard eggs in my parents pasture, I've used your website on a daily basis. 4 eggs are pipped and the ducklings are ready to come out! Thanks again!
