I have a duck nesting in my garden (the second time in 4 years) and I want to know is there anything I can/should do to help the duck before and after the hatch?

Hi Sheldy! I am visiting my Mom's apartment and she wanted me to send you a special bunny hello as it's been a long time since we've talked! We are having the best time, eating peanuts and playing with my little stuffed kitty and bunny toys. Mallory is doing fine. I know as I HEAR her when I'm at my other house. She is one fine girl, like you! I think it's time for my bed! Have a lovely day and hugs to Caroline and David and that new beautiful baby I keep hearing about! Love always, Benton and Mallory xo xo xo

What a lovely site!I was trawling through the net looking at duckling-related pages as I'm reinstating 2 fairly large ponds in our garden and I'd love some pet ducks. It's great to see how adorably tame yours are and also how compatable with cats,as I've got 3 Burmese hunters myself who are very intent on trying to eat my children's pet gerbils if they find their ways into their bedrooms unattended.I was toying with the idea of letting the newly-hatched ducklings imprint on my rather broody dog to help protect them! Thanks alot for all the very useful incubator info too,and I hope it's not long before you're feeling 100% fit again.

We're getting ducklings tomorrow after 8 years hiatus. I can't wait. I've shared your website with my hubby and we're excited about the little flock we're going to have. I'll share photos with you and maybe one of our little duckies can be a penpal with Sheldon!

We have 2 Rouen ducklings and 2 Peking ducklings. I have gotten online to read about Sheldon a couple of times in the past few weeks. The ducklings were Easter gifts for our 6 year old son and 3 1/2 year old daughter. I believe that I've taken to the ducklings as well, if not better than the kids. They are so much fun. Any suggestions on how long you allowed Sheldon to swim a day between 3 and 6 weeks of age? Also, is Sheldon a Rouen duckling? If not what breed is She? Thanks for any advice you have about making these ducklings a part of our family and our children's lives! Rindy Cayce

Hi Sheldon, I'm sure that you're not reading this yourself, although you seem quite talented. Talented and, I think, a little spoiled and pampered. But why not? It's obvious that you provide a lot of happiness to those big human animals so why shouldn't you enjoy the fruits of your labor? The pictures and your diary are truly uplifting. I have some of your distant relatives living with me and I'm sure they would like to convey their sincere quacks to you. You are such a pretty bird I bet the other ducks are very jealous! And what a lovely name. It is a very pretty name for a very special friend. Warmest wishes to you and and your entire family.

Hi Sheldon! "They" always say that the grass is greener on the other side. And boy is it ever! I had an incredible few minutes away from Tiny, Bossie, Lara, Emily, Charlotte and Wynona as I made a jail break and slipped on over to my neighbors property. Mom caught me right away, put me back into my own yard and was late for work putting barricades up along the fenceline. Oh, but the WORMS! Delish! I'm so glad you and your crew are all doing great! Miss you tons! Love, Mallory xo xo xo xo xo

Don't know who to write to Sheldon or you, lol. I hope Sheldon grows to be a healthy duck. I enjoyed the information on how you raised him and the Pics. I'm getting ducks two of them male and female and I'm trying to learn all I can about them I'm not going to eat them (Cruel) I hate having to raise animals to slaughter and I hope I never will GOOD LUCK SHELDON!!
