Our family adopted 4 call ducks several weeks ago, as they are now very much part of our family and adored by my 5 year old daughter, your site has been fantastic as we wait to see if we have boys or girls. Cheers

We have just hatched 5 indian runner ducklings and have found your site very useful. They are great fun to watch and I have been 'wasting' a lot of time watching them feed, drink and paddle about. I am trying the paint tray idea next and I am sure they are going to love it. Thanks for your info. Beccy

I have just come upon a duckling in the past day from someone that brought it into work and needed to give it away. After some research online I have discovered that raising a sole duckling can create several problems - so now, lo and behold, I am the proud owner of two ducklings. I have a great pond out back for my two duck for when they get older, and I am hoping with your advise we will get them to adult stage with no problems. Thanks for the help - I can see how someone gets addicted to these guys.

Thank you very much for all that very useful duckling info. We found a (probably) wild duckling (if it's not a little goose because it has quite large feet for such a small duckling) in our backyard last Saturday. Totally beats us how it got there, because there are no ducks anywhere near here and also our garden is hardly accessible to a duckling on a walkabout. Yet it wound up here. Maybe dropped by a hawk or crow or something. It's an extremely lucky bird to not have been injured at all by the attack or the fall and also to have been found just before nightfall. And I'm guessing it was just a day, maybe two, old on Saturday. We'll call it Lucky of course, hehehe:) We'll try and raise it with your info handy. Bought the lamp and the crumbs. And it seems to feel good so far much to our own surprise (we actually expected it to perish within the day). It eats and drinks plenty. I think we should know in a week or so at the latest if we're doing well enough. If we do, we have you to thank for it! If we don't we just found the site too late. (But we hope we were in time) Thanks very much already though!

Lots of useful information. I hope to get 2 baby ducklings to raise. We have mallard ducks that nest in the garden every year. One got left behind but unfortunately did not survive.

Hiya, thankyou for all your helpful little tips on your website! They have helped me a great deal. I've got one little campbell duckling who has just hatched out yesterday, and I thought there was something seriously wrong with him when he had a runny nose, but upon reading your tips, it put my mind at rest just to know he's a little bit over-excited or a little bit greedy!! Thankyou, I continue to look on your site whenever I need questions answered. Regards Jenny :)

Hi Caroline, Thank you very much for such a practical, informative website. We are awaiting our first hatch of ducklings ( my son was given a pair for his third birthday) in a couple of days. We have successfully hatched a number of chicks and guinea fowls, so fingers crossed we have success with the ducklings! I love seeing our pair waddling around the garden, so hopeully we will have quite a few more soon. Kindest regards, Kate

This is a very user friendly website. Thanks. I have a lone orphaned duckling about 2 weeks old now. We've had it for 9 days now and it seems very healthy. I'm concerned that it won't know it's a duck as it has no duck companions! Any ideas?

I visited your web page and have a question. We are hatching mallard duck eggs which were laid on June 1st. We have been watching them and candling them...so far so good. I expect hatching to be near June 29th?? My question is...when should we stop turning them? I have not noticed any signs of pipping yet but understand you should not turn them near the end of incubation. Are we at that stage now? Thanks for your comments

Great web site. We live on a lake and 5 ducklings whom apparently lost their mother found us one evening while we were sitting on our dock. They were so tiny we knew if we didnt take care of them they would not make it. Your web site has some great tips. Thanx
